On October 7, 2018, as part of the preparations for the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to France, Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, Acting Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC met in Paris with Arnaud Breuillac, President of Total E&P Company.
The meeting discussed the prospects for the development of further cooperation in the oil and gas industry.
The French side expressed interest in establishing mutually beneficial relations with Uzbekneftegaz JSC, and pointed out the great potential of the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Following the negotiations, the sides signed the Cooperation Agreement, providing for the study of the possibility of joint exploration in the investment blocks of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Agreement provides for the creation of a joint working group, which, based on the results of the study, will provide concrete proposals for further development of cooperation.
This Agreement will give impetus to the development of fruitful cooperation between the companies of the two countries in the oil and gas industry.
Earlier, in September 2018 the sides signed the Confidentiality Agreement so that to provide Total E&P representatives with the information on promising investment blocks of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Total E&P operates in more than 130 countries of the world with about 100 thousand employees. The company annually produces about 130 million tons of oil. The company’s market capitalization is USD 162.78 billion.
In addition to production, the company is engaged in oil processing and owns a network of gas stations, as well as several chemical enterprises.
